In Futile Devices, Alehk Rod approaches the creative process through her own memories, in an exploration of the innermost recesses of her imagination. With a visual condition limiting the artist's vision and the camera's inability to record the emotional layers of her lived experiences, Alehk Rod turns to painting in response to the shortcomings of these mechanisms.

"In a world where photography protects visual reality with precision and holds memories with unwavering fidelity, there is little room left for contemplation and the intricate weavings of visionary fantasy," says the artist Alehk Rod.

Thus arises "Futile Devices", a series of paintings in which Alehk Rod overturns her own memories of her recent stay on the island of Ibiza. These memories have been inevitably veiled and intertwined with the vagaries of the mind, subjected to the reshaping and sifting dictated by emotions before finding their way onto the canvas and thus engendering abstract vistas that capture the very core of past events and provide a space for reverie.

With a background in photography, Alehk Rod ensures that each piece serves as a window into the amalgam of memories and scenes that escape even the most skilled lens, an ode to the ephemeral reverberations of memory. For the artist, this series is a tribute to the examination of the inner sanctums of the mind, a visual and almost lyrical ode to what has been lived and the longing for what is yet to come.

En Futile Devices, Alehk Rod aborda el proceso creativo a través de sus propios recuerdos, en una exploración de los recovecos más recónditos de su imaginación. Con una afección visual que limita la visión de la artista y la incapacidad de la cámara para registrar las capas emocionales de sus experiencias vividas, Alehk Rod recurre a la pintura en respuesta a las deficiencias de estos mecanismos.

"En un mundo en el que la fotografía protege la realidad visual con precisión y guarda los recuerdos con fidelidad inquebrantable, queda poco espacio para la contemplación y los intrincados tejidos de la fantasía visionaria", afirma la artista Alehk Rod.

Así surge "Dispositivos fútiles", una serie de cuadros en los que Alehk Rod vuelca sus propios recuerdos de su reciente estancia en la isla de Ibiza. Estos recuerdos han sido inevitablemente velados y entrelazados con los caprichos de la mente, sometidos a la remodelación y tamizado dictado por las emociones antes de encontrar su camino en el lienzo y así engendrar vistas abstractas que capturan el núcleo mismo de los acontecimientos pasados y proporcionan un espacio para el ensueño.

Con formación en fotografía, Alehk Rod se asegura de que cada obra sirva de ventana a la amalgama de recuerdos y escenas que escapan incluso al objetivo más hábil, una oda a las efímeras reverberaciones de la memoria. Para la artista, esta serie es un homenaje al estudio de los santuarios interiores de la mente, una oda visual y casi lírica a lo que se ha vivido y al anhelo de lo que está por venir.
