About me
Alehk Rod (Madrid, 1993) is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses painting, textile installation and digital exploration. Her work investigates perception and the ways in which memory can materialise through form, texture and colour.
She began her career in painting, developing a visual language based on deconstruction—fragmented geometries, overlapping transparencies, and shifting depths—deeply influenced by her personal experience with a reduced field of vision. This condition has shaped her understanding of how an image is constructed and perceived, and continues to permeate her tactile approach to the creative process.
Her interest in perception gradually led her to textiles, where gesture and repetition become tools for translating the intangible. Crochet and tufting offer her a physical and rhythmic way of constructing the image, an extension of painting into space and volume. Her textile pieces maintain the logic of her early paintings: superimposition, rhythm, and the dialogue between what is seen and what is felt.
Between Madrid and Ibiza, Rod finds inspiration in the island's craft traditions—especially peluts—which embody both domestic intimacy and sculptural presence. This legacy is reflected in the materiality and spatial dimension of her work.
In all her media, Rod explores the boundary between the visible and the invisible, the remembered and the imagined, and the ways in which the body understands the world through touch, gesture, and time.

Alehk Rod (Madrid, 1993) es una artista multidisciplinar cuya práctica abarca la pintura, la instalación textil y la exploración digital. Su trabajo investiga la percepción y las formas en que la memoria puede materializarse a través de la forma, la textura y el color.
Comenzó su trayectoria en la pintura, desarrollando un lenguaje visual basado en la deconstrucción —geometrías fragmentadas, transparencias superpuestas y profundidades cambiantes— profundamente influido por su experiencia personal con un campo visual reducido. Esta condición ha marcado su manera de entender cómo se construye y cómo se percibe una imagen, y sigue atravesando su aproximación táctil al proceso de creación.
Su interés por la percepción la llevó progresivamente hacia el textil, donde el gesto y la repetición se convierten en herramientas para traducir lo intangible. El crochet y el tuffting le ofrecen una forma física y rítmica de construir la imagen, una extensión de la pintura hacia el espacio y el volumen. Sus piezas textiles mantienen la lógica de sus primeras pinturas: la superposición, el ritmo, y el diálogo entre lo que se ve y lo que se siente.
Entre Madrid e Ibiza, Rod encuentra inspiración en las tradiciones artesanales de la isla —especialmente en los peluts— que encarnan a la vez intimidad doméstica y presencia escultórica. Ese legado se refleja en la materialidad y la dimensión espacial de su obra.
En todos sus medios, Rod explora el límite entre lo visible y lo invisible, lo recordado y lo imaginado, y las formas en que el cuerpo comprende el mundo a través del tacto, el gesto y el tiempo.
